Nemo Propheta in Patria Ovest is a site-specific project by Antonio Guiotto; this project constitutes an ironic analysis of the idea of commonplace, but also a praise for chance and the games which fate saves for us sometimes. The project is curated by Elena Squizzato.

Partly guided by chance and partly by ironically mystic forces, the artist Antonio Guiotto explores and confronts the city of Padua, its urban (and non-urban) landscapes and its 'commonplaces', making them the object of his prophecy.
A completing element of Nemo Propheta in Patria Ovest is, together with the site-specific installation at the exhibition, the realization of a hybrid publishing project halfway between an artist book and a documenting operation, which is the result of a six-handed collaboration among the artist, the graphic designer and the curator. The book, published in limited edition in 78 pieces, will be presented during the inauguration of the exhibition.
Nemo Propheta in Patria Ovest is included in the program of events of Distretto Santa Croce, a new reality in Padua which aims at building up a centre for creative activities addressed to a public interested in art, design and architecture.
