The 2015 TRA summer exhibition is a collective exhibition in which seven young artists, selected among scholarship recipients and winners of the artist’s studios of Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, exhibits some works which examine the idea of waiting, "a state of suspension before something happens" (C. Casarin). Considering the works’ eclecticism, and speaking with Enzo Comin, one of the artists, we decided to go out of the classical scheme of catalogues, in order to create an object that could speak of the experience of the exhibition – and of the waiting, of course – in other terms, using a different vocabulary.
In the little monochromatic book we designed, the exact reproductions of the artworks don’t appear, making way to the ideas of the works instead. Such ideas are built, page after page, pixel after pixel, both in the readers’ mind and on the paper. At the end of this experience, the viewers not only will have seen the work, but they will also have developed their own idea of the work itself, not necessarily corresponding to the real one. This correspondence will be however verifiable through seven small posters, separable from the book.
At the end of the waiting, readers will be able to face the critical texts.
